The most noticeable thing about this performance
from 1987 is the absence of Lindsey Buckingham (who bowed out
of Fleetwood Mac's Tango in the Night tour). His replacements
Rick Vito and Billy Burnette do a capable job but it is not the
same. Also missing are some of his songs in the track listing
of this (i.e. "Go Your Own Way," "Monday Morning,"
etc.) so the focus is definitely on Stevie Nicks and Christine
McVie's material. That being said, this is an alright DVD performance
though I'd wish there were more songs and bonus stuff here. The
old hits are here ("Dreams," "World Turning",
"Little Lies," "Don't Stop"), tracks from
the then-recent Tango in the Night ("Everywhere,"
"Seven Wonders," "Little Lies," etc.), and
even an old blues fave ("Oh Well"). Nicks and McVie
carry the live performance with their voices and photogenic personalities
(certainly the case with Nicks). The Dance (1997) is a
more complete and arguably better representation of the Mac on
a live recording but it's an interesting look back of the band
in their late '80s incarnation.
