Howard Jones
Perform 01
BCI Eclipse

Howard Jones has always been renowned for being a one-man band, playing catchy electropop behind a synthesizer. This time around on this latest CD, it is a band performance in every sense of the word. With backing musicians playing drums, bass, guitar, and even horns, Jones runs through his familiar synth hits in this new setting: "What Is Love?", "Things Can Only Get Better," "No One Is To Blame," a reggae spin on "Like to Get To Know You Well," and a fresh take on "New Song." Though his reputation lies on the quirkiness nature of his musicianship, Jones is really a singer/songwriter at heart who could write some intimate pop songs as is the case with "I Must Go," "Love is a Good Thing," and a collobaration with Duncan Sheik on "Someone You Need." Perform 01 shows Jones (for now) putting aside technological wizadry for something more homespun and intimate.
