Electrobeats and trippy, cerebral lyrics are celebrated here on this latest effort from this French collective fronted by Miss Kittin. Drawing on electroclash, ambient, and a touch of punk, the music by Miss Kittin is quite hypnotic and pulsating, whether on a rocker like "Meet Sue She Be," the dance happy "Allergic" the atmospheric Happy Violentine. Miss Kittin also draws on the bizarre as on "Requiem for a Hit" (with the lyric "I beat that bitch with a hit") and the spoken word whisper tension of "I Come.com." Kittin's breathy voice brings conveys a sense of detachment and mystery to the collective aural soundscapes. This is conceptual arty music purely for the senses, an approach that certainly achieves its intention.
