Reflection

Before Roxy Music reached commercial music
nirvana with Avalon a decade later, the group led by Bryan Ferry
was at the height of its avant-garde/glam zenith. With Ferry's
unmistakable campy croon, Brian Eno's sonic wizardry, Andy MacKay's
honking sax, and Phil Manaznera's zinging guitar, Roxy Music
was ahead of its time with their ambitious set pieces played
with an abundance of glamour and substance. Reflection is a document
of the group's live appearances on German television and a record
of the early Roxy Music just as they were still in their collective
prime. The songs on this 2-CD set reflects the group's outstanding
output at the time: "Virginia Plain," "Re-Make/Re-Model,"
"Out of the Blue," "Street Life," "Do
the Strand," "Editions of You," and even a campy
cover of Dylan's "A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall." Each disc
also features of video performances of each of the songs-you'll
get to witness not only the performances but also the wild wardrobe
and look of the group (especially of the then-andro looking Neo
and greasily-coiffed Ferry). Reflection is for the die-hard
Roxy fan looking to relive the nostalgia of glam rock.
