Riddlin Kids
Hurry Up and Wait
Aware/Columbia
By David Chiu

Even if they were actually called "Ritalin Kids" rather the current play on words of their current moniker, this band would still play energetic and fast punk rock with the usual angstful lyrics. So with their latest album, you won't find anything that is penetrating or new; however the rock never lets up for an exuberant-filled second: "Blind," the chaotic "Follow Through" and "Faithful," the raucous hell of "Nowhere to Run," and the anthemic "Crazy" go for the jugular; a pop friendly side of the group reveals itself on "Here We Go Again.". Riddlin Kids does a respectable cover of R.E.M.'s "It's the End of the World As We Know It," delivering the song with more of the apocalyptic fury that R.E.M. sublimely touches on the original. The music isn't rocket science but adequate.
